The U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition is no more but Imperial Beach will invite the community to the shore for summer sandcastles for the Sun & Sea Festival.
Kids activities will be held, circus demonstration and acrobatic lessons, kids art and other activities will be held.
A small number of vendors will sell some items but attendees are encouraged to eat at local restaurants.
The Optimist Club of Imperial Beach will host its Kids N' Kastles Competition. Children 12 and under can participate.

There will be no adult competition this year but well-known sandcastle teams I.B. Posse, Archisand and Sand Squirrels are expected to get together to make one large sculpture.
