Andrew McKee is a native Imperial Beach musician. Having relocated to Redlands, CA to attend the local University, and more recently to LA, he now lives back in IB where he runs the Music Room at the IB Sports Park and writes/produces music on the side.

He got his start in music early on in elementary school learning various instruments, and settled on trombone during middle school. During high school, Andrew joined the community youth band Jazz Trax and performed at festivals and competitions around Southern California, and even got to tour Europe and play the  prestigious Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. It was during this time that Andrew also developed an interest in the guitar as a creative outlet.

While attending the University of Redlands, where he graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Composition in '05, Andrew was the recipient of such School of Music awards as The President's Honor Recital Finalist, and the Composer's Award. He participated in nearly all of the instrumental ensembles, and also formed original projects with friends, in which he started dabbling in recording and music production.

The last project he formed during that time was an instrumental progressive group called The Deluge, featuring himself and violist Matthew O'Rane. Continuing on after college, they later brought in drummer Grant Jordan and bassist Jordan Shokrian and performed original material in and around southern California. Andrew has so far engineered and produced both an EP and full-length album with The Deluge, the latter of which (2010's "Inverted Earth") recieved much critical acclaim.

At the Sports Park Music Room, in addition to running programs where he teaches guitar, drums, keyboard, and recording, he also works with a variety of local bands and artists who come in to take advantage of the facility's recording equipment. He is also in charge of the Sports Park's "Band Night" series, and has started a program teaching young adults from the local Job Corps.

On the side, Andrew has also been involved on both the performance and production side of things with groups and artists such as The Black Light Soul, Dionysos, Victoria Netanus, The Jordan Mutation, Peggy Watson, Anat Tour's children's music project Rainbow Animals , and Jess L'Cheminant.

He is currently working on material for a solo album release, as well as teaching private lessons (guitar, drums, trumpet, trombone, recording) locally and working with a variety of artists. Anyone interested in working with Andrew should feel free to contact him via e-mail at thedelugemusic@hotmail.com
