We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! I have no love lost for the trustees, but what a scandal was found - 4 misdemeanors and 1 felony.Read More Hell with that kind of muckraking we could convict every politician in the county, even Bonnie Dumanis herself has failed to file a campaign contribution!

I agree with you but... I don't compare school districts with city/ gov! Yes it all needs to stopRead More and we shouldn't accept this stealing behavior in districts! Police or Fire Dept. City lawyers mayors etc. just glad they got caught! Let's stop more

I am always happy when the crooks get caught. white collar or blue collar, a scum bag is a scumRead More bag. They knew what they were doing was wrong. Vigilance for the public good is a pillar of democracy and critical when striving for fairness. Misuse and abuse of the public trust or money shows disdain for the electorate. Tar and feathered then run out of town on a rail is still appropriate. But unfortunately out of vogue.

I'm sure there are various circumstances where children get a hold of alcohol, as well as drugs andRead More cigarettes, like stealing, but the facts show that it is largely the fault of ignorant, corrupt adults that victimize our children. I understand substance abuse education and family talks, but peer pressure and temptation often override common sense at that age. What overrides the common sense and responsibility of selfish, pleasure seeking grown ups? That need to relive their youth and feel important and cool because they are not only unfortunate addicts, but advocates of misery loves company and the more the merrier. That's where we need to start. Instead of skipping around town half comatose with a flagrant disregard for humanity, how about the community dispose of the idiots who hand out poison like it was candy? You reap what you sow. The statistics don't lie. We can take out the trash and lose the rats and roaches that dwell in it or buy stock in small pastel colored caskets. We have the power to decide! Pick your side!

Meanwhile, D.A. Bonnie Dumanis gets-away-with accepting $200k in illegal campaign donations to fundRead More her failed mayoral campaign - and doesn't have to give the money back! Oh' the hypocrisy...

I thought sentencing was supposed to be a deterrent. This doesn't seem like a lot of punishmentRead More considering the level of corruption. How about 5 years actually behind bars?

Average salary over $66,000 and upwards of more than $100,000 PLUS Cadillac pension and healthRead More benefits and these bums want more for what amounts to part-time work. We have several children that moved from private school to the Sweetwater district and found our worse nightmare. Teachers take off regularly and apparently don't leave a lesson plan for the subs who then become babysitters playing movies, telling jokes, etc. I have personally spoken with Jr. and Sr. High School teachers who bragged about taking the day off so they can work another job. Fire the crybabies. There will be hundreds of qualified applicants for each position.

they didn't need a 'campaign finance reform' rule because accepting bribes in exchange for givingRead More away multimillion dollar contracts was already illegal and their public jester to control themselves is shallow to say the least.... i'm sure they passed the reform because it completely eliminated bribes and corruption for our u.s. congress when they passed the reform upon themselves...

congrats on the guilty plead - no need to continue to waste the taxpayers' money..... but everyoneRead More involved needs to do some jail time - especially the profiteers... .....fine, penalties, and public humiliation isn't enough.... councils and boards need to understand that they are legally responsible and the 1st ones held accountable for their actions ... corruption and greed are no longer 'fashionable', but it's all recorded .... now it's time to go back over the last decade's books and send them all to jail.... too bad for them....

Jesus Gandara - gone Bonny Garcia - gone Arlie Ricasa - gone The SUHSD is finally being cleaned up.Read More While we are waiting for the remainder of the plea deals to be made or the trials to be held let's all join in working to replace Ed Brand. It is time for this community to have their students given the best education and the taxpayers to be ensured that those spending the monies are being fiscally responsible. With our teachers facing exorbitant increases in benefits why is Ed Brand spending close to $18 million on a new District office in Eastlake? We have a $10 million deficit, why? Why was our CFO Dr. Alt, a much respected CFO fired? Why is the old CFO being brought back to work in the District - because Alt refused to be anything but TRANSPARENT.

they could at least have the decency to plead out and stop wasting taxpayer dollars.... there's areRead More laws on the books that allows the state to recoup the monies lost as a result of the corruption....the taxpayer has the legal right to seize the assets of the board, school employees, and contractors involved...to pay for court cost and all losses as a result of illegal activity...

You won't see it called Agenda 21. It won't come with flashing lights announcing that it's part ofRead More a global standardization program to inventory, monitor, and control every aspect of your life. Example?Common Core is the 'new' inventory and control system adopted by nearly every state in the US to fully implement Skinnerian training. This system creates people who will go along to get along, who will be 'good obedient citizens'. RESIST. TELL YOUR SCHOOL BOARD THAT YOU WANT OUT OF COMMON CORE. This is a top down federal/global system for pseudo-education and is a tremendous threat to our independence as individuals and as a nation.
