When we bought Nova's house on Beverly Eddie knew all the neighbors but Freda went out of her way toRead More welcome me. She would walk by every day and chat an always gave us bags full of macadamia nuts at Christmas. I will miss her!
Nova Coleman Hulson April 5, 2013 at 06:50 pm
I grew up on Beverly Avenue, 3 doors down from Freda... She would take a walk everyday, and mostRead More days I would walk with her, sometimes she'd have 5 or so of us kids from our street. She is one of my earliest and favorite memories. I saw her some years back and was so happy to let her know what joy those walks with her meant to me. I could go on & on with the memories of her....always having something special for me at Halloween, held my hand & walked me home when I hurt myself on my big wheel so much more. What a sweet sweet lady. May she rest in peace

If the gathering is not on the same day as the service our family is holding, my sister and I wouldRead More like to attend, as well. Please let us know. Thanks.

Mr. Leach has I know him (grew up across the street from him) was an extrodinary man. Growing up IRead More played with his and his wifes (Marliyn Leach) son Jeff so for a few years i was like a fixture in there home. I remember the pride he took in his home, white picket fences, and the neat two-story clubhouse/shed he built that was cool. He really had a ack for fixing things always somthing on his workbench. I know he was he was loved in his church, I tagged along when I was younger. I always felt weclomed. He's a great neighbor to have. I hold this man and his wife Marliyn dear to my heart always. He will be missed by myself & family. He walks with god now. I love you Marliyn. Love Kathy

VOTE YES on S !!! - November 6th !!!
Brash Brazen September 14, 2012 at 03:23 pm
Tell your Mom & Dad,that marijuana is not bad !!! It's time to have a frank conversation withRead More your parents about marijuana, because every vote counts & we'll need all the votes we can get for Measure "S" to be successful !!! Marijuana is medicine & taking your medicine is good for what ails you !!! It makes absolutely no sense to force IB patients to leave town to acquire medical marijuana which they will consume in IB upon their return !!! Illegally banning dispensaries doesn't reduce the amount of marijuana that is smoked in IB one iota !!! In fact the only thing it accomplishes is to make it more difficult for those patients who lack access to transportation to get their doctor recommended medication !!! Vote YES on "S" !!!

Depression is the most painful thing a person can experience. Think of how much physical pain heRead More endured in his long NFL career. Mr. Seau must have been suffering for sometime. We need to get the message out about the many times overwhelming consequences of the pain that depression can bring. Most of us would easily trade our boring lives with somebody as well known and loved as Junior. The message is clear. Depression is powerfully painful so painful even a tough man like Junior could not endure. Keep a close eye on those you love and never disregard somebody suffering from mental depression because if Mr . Seau can not handle it then you know.....god bless his soul and god bless his family.

God Bless you Zofia, you are not forgotten
Liz Langley August 5, 2012 at 11:05 pm
I just heard about this and I'm so very sorry. Zofia was a wonderful lady. I met her years agoRead More when I was selling advertising. During our conversations she learned I was thinking of moving and encouraged me to look in IB. she really was passionate about the neighborhood, and when I did eventually move here, it was always so nice to chat with her and I so enjoyed eating at the restaurant. It was the only good food in IB, but to say that doesn't really do it justice because the food was on par with fine restaurants in the tony parts of San Diego or any big city- a truly delicious surprise.. I was so sad to hear that they couldn't make it and I hoped that eventually they would find success elsewhere. It's a tragedy that Zofia fell victim to her circumstances and my thoughts are with her husband and son. I will remember her as she was during happier times.

Zofia was a kind hearted, hard working woman. I remember her telling us her story of coming fromRead More Poland with the American Dream. A dream she felt could happen with hard work and she and her family were on their way. My heart goes out to the Migdalska family and they are in my prayers. The MZM Bistro was a hidden gem. The food was some of the best I have had anywhere, too bad the community of Imperial Beach could not appreciate it, and could not understand what an amazing culinary draw it could have been for the city. I was so sad the day they had to close their doors.

Very amazing guy with a great sense of humour, he made sitting in class and listening to longRead More lectures a very entertaining experience. You couldnt help but to love who he was because he always showed up with a positive attitude and if you wanted to work he would definantly give you the oppertunity. A great man who will never be forgotten.

He was the coolest man, he was always laughing, I was one of his students at san diego job corps andRead More at the phcc he was very motative and had lots of enthusiasm of teaching us, he also shared lots of stories with us. Thanks Paul you will always be missed
Shirley Nakawatase March 1, 2012 at 10:41 am
Paul also had a funny streak in him. Not too many years ago he wanted to do a fundraiser for cancerRead More research. He painted toilets and had them installed in your friends lawns. The catch was a donation to install and another donation to remove and put in another friends yard. 5th Street in Imperial Beach was festooned with Paul's toilets. It was a great fundraiser and I don't think I saw Paul as tickled about anything more than that.

I never met him but when my sister told me about him and how nice of a guy he was I was bummed IRead More never got to meet him. My daughter also said he knew everyone by first name. I know you are sad but just remember how many lives he influenced by being the man he was. May he suffer no more and God Bless him..

I looked at my brother Russell's picture today and I can't tell you that our loss has lessened overRead More time. He was my big brother and the pain is still there. It is comforting to read all of the kind and heartfelt memories about Russell. His smile was infectious, unequaled by his intelligence and his genuine kindness and compassionate nature.

On behalf of Wildcoast I would like to extend my condolences to Sean's wife and children and familyRead More and close friends.. Sean was a great supporter of Wildcoast and our mission. Through Surfine, he supported our annual Dempsey Holder Ocean Festival, which provided hundreds of children the opportunity to compete in their first surf contest. Sean provided a lot of valuable information to us regarding Mexico and was a great source of knowledge on swell and coastal conditions. He was also a Baja and Mexico surf pioneer. Rest in peace Sean.
