Latter Rain Ministries Gives Out Food Ahead of Thanksgiving

The church gave out food to more than 100 people Friday.

Latter Rain Ministries on 13th Street. handed out turkies, hams, produce, canned food and other goods ahead of Thanksgiving Friday.

The church has around 100 members, but by noon food was given out to more than 100 people, who heard about the event through word of mouth. 

Like others dispensing donated food, Pastor Jody Crawford said he sees more people looking for help than he did this time last year.

"The donations went down this year but more people are calling for food," he said.

Yesterday members of the church went downtown to feed the homeless. The church tries to do outreach events a few times a year, like a health clinic event earlier this year or helping to clean up the city ahead of the Sandcastle Competition in the summer.
