Imperial Beach Community Rally for Khari Johnson and the Imperial Beach PATCH.

Dear Khari.  I want to thank you for all of the support and hard work you have done for our beautiful and unique community of Imperial Beach.  The news of possible cuts to the Imperial Beach PATCH is always a reality in today's competitive business climate. It would be a shame if AOL pulls the plug on this emerging digital and online experiment of community news reporting.  You and the IB Patch have created a dynamic space for community members at large to express their opinions, share news, post photos and engage in lively commentary.  Now, it is our turn to support you.  Here are some of my ideas to show AOL how much we as a community appreciate our editor and the Imperial Beach PATCH:

1.  Wear yellow, i.e. shirt or ball cap and join your family, friends and neighbors on the IB Pier to unite, rally and show support for Khari and the IB PATCH.  Yellow is the color of sunshine and transparency.  This would make a great photo to send to AOL and upper management.

2.  Right after the rally at the IB Pier, people can choose to visit a local business and either say hi to the owner or buy something.  It wouldn't hurt to mention that advertising space on the PATCH is pretty reasonable.

3.  Post as many community comments on this Rally to get the word out.  NOW is the time to put our time and money where our mouths are.

4.  This Sunday at noon would probably be the best day due to the urgency of this news.  Farmers Market Fridays is another option.  If you are a fan of the IB PATCH, then start spreading the news any way you can.  Let's see if we can unite for a common cause and continue to make Imperial Beach the BEST it can be!

Thank you again Khari for everything.  Your professionalism, work ethic and community involvement is so appreciated by many locals here in Imperial Beach.
