Wednesday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Slowly fading swell energy in the water, rain forecast Thursday and Friday.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. It looks like things are slowly winding down out there from this weekend's action, but you can still find plenty of playful size surf along this stretch of sand.

We have some nicely groomed conditions early on. As far as the surf goes, there's a decent dose of decreasing west-northwest swell and some minor south-southwesterly energy in the water.

That recipe is offering this stretch of sand some fast semi-wally lines with some good pick and choose corners. Most spots in Imperial Beach are running about knee to chest high, with the focal points pulling shoulder high waves with a few larger sets.

Wednesday's weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and highs from 64 to 69, lows from 47 to 52 this evening. 20 percent chance of rain Thursday.

If you're going to grab a session at some point during the day, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees.  Enjoy!!
