Possible Rain on the Way, Wednesday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Small and weak waves. A general advisory remains in effect for all San Diego County beaches.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, you're not going to find much size out there this morning that's for sure! We're seeing some minimal leftovers along this stretch of sand with a mix of minor west-northwest swell and some very minimal southerly energy in the water.

That recipe accounts for some soft sectiony lines, with a few workable ones on a log or maybe a fish of some sort. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing knee high waves, with the standout breaks seeing thigh high waves, with maybe a few plus sets.

A general advisory remains in effect for all San Diego County beaches after rain last weekend. Beaches near the mouth of the Tijuana River and south to the U.S.-Mexico border have been closed since Nov. 4 due to sewage contaminated runoff from the river. To check beach status, visit the San Diego Coastkeeper website, call the water quality hotline at 619-338-2073 or just check with lifeguards. If you feel sick after swimming, visit the for free care.

Partly cloudy early and becoming sunny with highs from 62 to 67, and lows from 44 to 52 Wednesday evening. Forecast 50 percent chance of rain Thursday.

If you're itching for a salt water bath, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature at most spots averaging between 59 and 61 degrees.
