Wednesday Surf and Weather Report

Big waves on the way from Wednesday through the weekend.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's looking like another fun day of action out there. In the morning, it's nothing solid that's for sure, but it's a whole different story for this afternoon.

A high surf advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service starting this afternoon and lasting until Friday afternoon. .

We're starting off with some texture or even minor bump on the ocean surface at many spots. We have the continued combination of swells in the water.  There's some new slowly building south-southwest energy and some holding northwest windswell in the mix.

That means there are some racy workable lines, with some nice shoulders to snag. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing knee to chest high waves until this afternoon, with the focal points pulling a few larger ones.

In Wednesday's weather, sunny skies with a high temperature of 72 degrees and low temperature of 61 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Expect similar conditions in the coming days and this weekend. For the rest of the city, 73 in Chula Vista and San Diego, low to mid 80s for inland valleys and 110 in Borrego Springs.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on no more than a short sleeve fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 65 and 68 degrees. Have at it!
