Tuesday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Surf builds a bit. Sunset is before 7 p.m. today.

Good Tuesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. It looks like surf has picked up a bit out there. There are definitely plenty of playful size waves to be had with a ton of rippable shoulders to snag and some racy sectiony lines.

Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing knee to chest high waves, with the focal points pulling a few plus sets.

We're starting off with some pretty clean and glassy conditions early on. We have a mixture of mainly new southwest swell and some very minor northwest energy in the lineup.

In Tuesday's weather, forecast calls for patchy fog and a 74 degree high in Imperial Beach. 75 in Chula Vista and downtown San Diego, mid 80s inland with a chance of thunderstorms and around 100 with thunderstorms and flash flood watch in the desert.

IB's patchy fog should burn off by 11 a.m. then sunny skies, but return late this evening when temperatures could get as low as 60 degrees.

If you're going to get out there and grab a session, no need to throw on more than a short sleeve fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 63 and 65 degrees. Have at it!
