Strong Winds Continue, Thursday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Some fun leftover energy in the water. Winds may reach up to 30 mph in Imperial Beach Thursday. 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms.

Good Thursday morning surf enthusiasts, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, it looks we're still seeing a decent amount of action out there, but unfortunately those conditions are looking a little funky early on.

Most spots are already starting off with some texture, bump or even light chop on the surface. Taking a look at the waves, we have mainly remnant west-northwest swell and some small south-southwest energy out there.

That means expect some fast sectiony lines, with some workable corners to grab. Most spots in Imperial Beach are pulling knee to chest high waves, with the focal points seeing some shoulder high sets.

North winds may get up to 20 to 30 mph Thursday and 15 to 25 mph Thursday evening. A high wind advisory has been issued for area mountains through Friday afternoon where winds are expected to get up to 60 mph. Gusts across the rest of the county may get up to 45 mph.

Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Highs from 60 to 65, lows from 43 to 51 this evening.

If you're going to have a salt water bath...you'll want to break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Get on it!!
