Thursday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

A little leftover energy in the water, and rain forecast from late Thursday through Friday.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing a little leftover energy out there. Basically it's back to small mode just about everywhere.

We have some nice and clean conditions early on, with a continued combination of dropping northwest energy and some pretty insignificant south-southwest swell in the water.

That means some kind of traces of section lines, with a few fun shoulders. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing knee to waist high waves, with the focal points pulling a few plus sets.

Mostly sunny with highs from 66 to 71 Thursday with weather turning partly cloudy in the afternoon. By late Thursday evening, 20 percent chance of rain and lows from 50 to 57. Likely showers in the morning Friday with chance of thunderstorms by the afternoon. 50 percent chance of rain Friday evening.

If you're in need of a salt water bath, then throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging at most spots between 59 and 61 degrees.  Good luck out there!
