The Surf Hut team from Imperial Beach won their heat but missed the final round by a few points.
From a total 13 teams competing in three heats last Friday, the Surf Hut team representing Imperial Beach placed first in their heat but just barely missed qualifying for the final round in the Oakley Suthwest Surf Shop Challenge at Seaside Reef in Cardiff, CA.

Hansen's Surfboards of Encinitas won the final round for the second year in a row, and will advance to the national championship later this year for a chance to win $10,000.
The Surf Hut team included Matt Field, Sean Fowler, Keith McCloskey and Sean Malabanan, among others.
