Storm Brings Rain to SD Wednesday and Thursday, Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Some fun size surf out there!

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, this first storm of the fall season is bringing us some playful size surf, but don't be surprised if those conditions begin to deteriorate sooner than later.

Most spots are starting off pretty clean early on. As far as the surf goes, we have mainly increasing northwest wind and groundswell in the water.

That recipe is offering this area some fast sectiony lines, with some rippable shoulders to pick off. Most spots in Imperial Beach are running about knee to chest high, with the standout breaks pulling a few bigger sets.

Weather forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of rain Wednesday and 100 percent chance of rain this evening. Otherwise the forecast calls for cloudy skies, with a high temperature of 67 and low of 60 in Imperial Beach. A storm that originated in the Gulf of Alaska is expected to bring rain to southern California Wednesday and Thursday, the National Weather Service said.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to wear a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 60 and 63 degrees. Have fun!
