Slight Chance of Thunderstorms on First Day of Fall, Friday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Fun size surf out there, partly sunny skies forecast in weather.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. We're seeing some fun size surf out there.

The conditions are looking pretty clean and glassy from the start. As far as the surf goes, there's some northwest swell and some smaller south southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is providing this part of the coast with some fast sectiony lines, with plenty of rippable shoulders. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing knee to chest high waves, with the standout breaks pulling a few plus sets.

Friday's weather forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms. High temperature of 70 degrees, low of 62 this evening in IB. High of 73 in Chula Vista and Coronado, 75 in downtown San Diego, mid to high 80s inland and 107 in El Centro.

If you're going to grab some of the action, you'll want to wear a thin fullsuit for that a.m session with the water temperature averaging between 62 and 64 degrees. Have fun out there!
