SDSU Faces UConn in Sweet 16 in Anaheim

Winner of tonight's game advances to the Elite 8 and comes a step closer to the NCAA Men's basketball championship.

San Diego State University's men's basketball team will play the University of Connecticut (UConn) today to see which team will make the Elite 8 in this year's NCAA basketball tournament.

The Aztecs are working on their best season ever, with a record of 34 wins and 2 losses.

San Diego State is scheduled to play the UConn at the Honda Center in Anaheim at 4:15 p.m. It will be the first West Regional semifinal game in the tournament.

At about 6:45 p.m., Duke University will face the University of Arizona in the second regional semifinal game. The winners of both games will move on to play Saturday at the Honda Center to decide who goes to the Final Four in Houston.

This is the second consecutive season the Aztecs have reached the NCAA
tournament -- a school first -- and the seventh time overall. But, the Aztecs never won a game in the tournament until this year.

The Aztecs survived a scare in the last round of tournament play last Saturday, beating Temple University 71-64 in double overtime to make it to the Sweet 16.
