Navy to Play in 2014 Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego

Navy has played in the game twice, defeating Colorado State in 2005, and losing to Utah in 2007 and San Diego State in 2010.

The Poinsettia Bowl announced Wednesday its lineup of schools and conferences for the next six years for its postseason college football game in San Diego.

The list has a Mountain West school taking on Navy in 2014, Army in 2016, BYU in 2017 and 2018, and a Mid-American Conference representative in 2017 and 2019. Navy, Army and BYU would have to be bowl-eligible to play in their particular years.

The bowl eligibility requirement became a big issue for bowl organizers this season. Army was set to travel to San Diego next month, but the Black Knights have sagged to a 3-6 record.
