Mariners Now 7-1 with Win in League Opener

Kenny Nieves, Jimmie Hill and Bennie Smith all rushed for more than 100 yards as Mar Vista High improved to 7-1 overall and won its Metro South Bay opener 49-7 over host San Ysidro.

Six different Mariners scored, with Keevin Moore the only plater with two TDs. Mar Vista as usual stayed with its powerful running game, attempting only three passes, with no completions.
