International Friendship Games Attendance Declines

The annual cross-border event is organized with the purpose of supporting good relations between young people from the United States and Mexico.

In its fifth year, the International Friendship Games (IFG) held at Mater Dei Catholic High School in Chula Vista last weekend attracted fewer people than in years past.

Lower attendance may have been the result of holding the event later in the summer than in previous years, a City of Chula Vista organizers said.

At the IFG, sports are used as a way to engender positive cross-border relations.
