Get Out Weekend Planner: See Grunions Run, Rugby and the Women's Football Championship Game

Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.

After last weekend’s busy schedule of superheroes, science fiction and sandcastles, this final weekend in July is a bit more lax. That’s not to say there isn’t stuff to do—we’ve got plenty of events in town and beyond that will satisfy the down-to-earth and the go-getters.

From July 29-31, Imperial Beach has some local community events, like a volunteer opportunity that will keep our natural habitats clean, and, like every Friday, . You can also catch one of the last grunion runs of the season Saturday evening.

If you’re ready to get out of the city, head over to Coronado for some diaper dancing or downtown for some all-day doggie fun.

The Del Mar Fairgrounds boasts a Marley this weekend, so you can get your reggae on after the races. And La Jolla has a film festival that’s for the fashionable only. Enjoy these last days of July!
