Friday Wave Check

Conditions starting off kind of crummy.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I’m Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, we’re definitely seeing some decent-size surf out there, but we’re lacking in the shape department and those conditions are starting off kind of crummy.

Most spots are seeing some texture or even light bump on the surface early on.  We still have a pretty good dose of northwest swell and not very much southerly energy to speak of.

That recipe is giving this neck of the woods some fast semi-walled lines with a few makeable corners. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing waist- to shoulder-high waves with the top breaks pulling some head-high-plus sets.

Checking the tides...at 7:15 the tide drops to a 2.0 low and then pushes back up to a 3.7 high at 12:30 this afternoon and then drains out to a 0.8 low at 7:15 this evening.

If you’re going to grab a surf, get out the 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties with the water temperature at most spots averaging between 57 and 58 degrees.  Good luck out there!
