Friday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

A good amount of action, but not much shape. High surf advisory. Wind gusts Friday evening may reach 30 mph.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, there's no shortage of surf, but we're lacking in the shape department. So, you're best bet would be to hit up a point or reef!

We're starting off the morning with some pretty clean conditions with a good amount of west-northwest swell in the water. That recipe is offering this stretch of sand some fast and fairly walled lines with a few good good corners.

The National Weather Service issued a Thursday that will last through the day Friday. A water quality general advisory issued Monday has been lifted for beaches countywide however beaches south of Seacoast Drive to the U.S.-Mexico border remain closed due to potential sewage contaminated runoff.

Weather forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with highs from 67 to 72 today and lows from 40 to 50 this evening. Wind gusts up to 15 mph during the day and up to 30 mph this evening.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to get out your 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties with the water temperature at most spots hanging between 56 and 58 degrees. Go for it!
