Friday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

King Tide will raise tide above average today and tomorrow. Friday and weekend forecast calls for high temperatures in the 70s.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report and weather forecast. 

Friday weather forecast calls for highs from 66 to 71 and lows from 38 to 48. Similar weather is forecast through Christmas Day.

In surf, a King Tide event raised the tide to 6.85 and will drop it near -1.5 around 2:30 p.m. The high tide is expected to continue tomorrow. Environmental groups are looking for volunteers to take pictures of the high tide in areas known to flood since it is believed King Tide events .

Conditions are looking nice and groomed, but don't be surprised if offshore winds kick up throughout the day. As far as the surf goes, we have mostly remnant northwest swell and some new small south southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is offering this part of the coast some fast workable lines, with a few good wedgy corners. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing knee to stomach high waves, with the focal points pulling some larger sets.

If you're going to grab a session, throw on that 4/3 fullsuit, the booties and maybe even a hood with the water temperature at most spots hanging between 56 and 58 degrees.

Beaches from the end of Seacoast Drive to the U.S.-Mexico border remained closed to potential sewage contaminated runoff in the water.
