Friday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Solid surf sticks around!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, the solid surf is sticking around for another day. Unfortunately, we're lacking in the shape department at those beachbreaks, so you'll probably want to hit up a point or a reef.

The conditions are looking fairly clean, with a little texture on it early on. We have the continued cranking south-southwesterly swell and very little northwest energy in the water.

That recipe is offering this stretch of sand with some fast mostly walled dumpy lines, with the occasional decent shoulder to snag. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing chest high to overhead waves, with the top south facing breaks pulling waves a few feet overhead.

Today's weather forecast calls for sunny skies and high temperature of 72 degress in Imperial Beach and low of 63 this evening. 74 in Chula Vista and San Diego, low to mid 80s inland and around 110 in the desert. Expect similar weather over Labor Day weekend.

If you're going to charge it, then you'll want to wear a short sleeve fullsuit for at least the a.m session, with the water temperature averaging between 64 and 67 degrees. Be safe out there!
