Fourth of July Wave and Weather Report

Small and playful waves and great weather.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch Fourth of July surf report. Well, there's not much in the way of size, but it's still looking pretty playful in the water for surfers today. A small wave board of some sort is probably the call.

The conditions are starting off nice and glassy early on. We're seeing a small mixture of mainly west northwest energy and some minimal southwest swell in the water.

That recipe will provide some fast semi-wally lines, with some fun shoulders to be had. Most spots in Imperial Beach are running about knee to waist high plus, with the top combo breaks pulling some stomach high waves, with maybe a few plus sets.

In the weather the forecasts calls for partly sunny skies with a high temperature near 70 and winds out of the west five to 10 mph. Low temperature around 66 tonight and a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

If you're going to get wet, throw on no more than a thin fullsuit, with the water temperature cooling off a tad and averaging between 62 and 64 degrees. Have fun out there!!
