Learn all about what does or doesn't make an ocean friendly garden (OFG) in this neighborhood patrol put on by the Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter.
Meet at the Tijuana Estuary and walk a one mile route around Imperial Beach to look for examples of OFG components--you might even develop an “eye” for OFG.
Your neighbors that have an OFG will be instructed on how they can qualify for an OFG sign. Those who have some of the elements can apply for assistance.

You can register at the estuary and meet other OFG participants before the walk gets started. The patrol will take about 90 minutes.
Make sure you slather on that SPF and bring water.
