Chance of Rain, Surf Loses Energy in Friday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Surf is losing energy. In the weather there's a chance of rain early in the day but forecast calls for sunny skies the rest of the day.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, it looks like the surf is backing down out there. So, you'll most likely want to break out a small wave board of some sort.

We're starting off with some pretty clean conditions. As far as the surf goes, we have a mixture of fading southwest swell and some pretty minor northwest windswell in the water.

That recipe is offering some kinda crumbly sectiony lines, with some fun workable shoulders. Most spots in Imperial Beach are running about knee to waist high plus, with the top combo breaks pulling some stomach high sets.

Chance of rain in the morning, but clouds are expected to burn off and make way for sunny skies. High temperature of 73 in the day, low of 60 in the evening for IB. 73 degree high in Chula Vista and downtown San Diego, near the same in Coronado and the coast, mid 70s inland and in the 90s in the desert.

If you're going to grab a salt water bath, you'll need no more than a short sleeve fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 64 and 67 degrees. Good luck out there!
