Big Tide Continues, Friday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Plenty of playful waves!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report.  Well, don't be surprised if it's a bit more crowded in the lineup due to the long holiday weekend.  As far as surf goes, we're seeing plenty of playful size action.

We're starting off with some nicely groomed conditions with a decent to modest amount of west-northwest swell in the water. By 8:15 a.m., tide will reach more than seven feet high.

That recipe is offering this neck of the woods some racy and fairly broken-up lines, and some good steep shoulders to snag. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing waist to chest high waves, with the focal points pulling shoulder high waves, with a few head high plus sets.

Black Friday weather forecast calls for possible patchy fog in the morning with mostly sunny skies the rest of the day. Highs from 61 to 66 and lows from 44 to 54 Friday evening.

A general advisory issued earlier this week after rain has been lifted for all San Diego County beaches. Shoreline near the Tijuana River mouth and to the U.S.-Mexico border will remain closed due to sewage contaminated runoff from the river.

If you're going to get out there and grab some surf you'll want to break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!
