Beaches Closed, Wednesday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Back to mainly small stuff in the water but the IB shoreline remains closed after rain sparked heavy flow from the Tijuana River. 20 percent chance of rain through Friday.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're back to mostly small stuff with a few playful size waves still sneaking through, but not matter. The County of San Diego Department of Environmental Health closed all shoreline Monday from Imperial Beach south to the U.S.-Mexico border due to sewage contaminated runoff from the Tijuana River.

The plume tracker, which monitors the flow of river waters after they enter the ocean, found large traces of river water moving north toward Imperial Beach and Coronado.

North of IB, a beach in south Coronado and Silver Strand State Beach have also been closed. General advisories have been issued for all other San Diego County beaches warning swimmers to stay clear of the water.
