Surf Town Triathlon and Duathlon Results

More than 400 people participated in the event that went from Naval Outlying Landing Field to the beach.

In its 23rd year, the Surf Town Triathlon and Duathlon took place Sunday morning.

Imperial Beach Patch was there to take pictures. .

The triathlon was a 500-meter swim, 15K bike ride and 5K run. The Duathlon was a 1,500-meter run and 15K Bike followed by a 5K run.

More than 300 people took part in the triathlon and about 100 participated in the duathlon.

Overall best time went to Charles Karstrom of La Jolla with a 47:27 finish time in the triathlon.

Amongst about a dozen competitors from Imperial Beach, John Czajkowski had the top time with a 56:15 finish and 4th place in the 40-44 mens division.

Damian Michaels had the best duathlon time for Imperial Beach athletes with a 55:06 finish and 1st Place in the 35-39 mens division.
