Mar Vista Player Wins PPR Play of the Week

Jordan Lertique dropped the hammer on a Francis Parker runningback earlier this month and in doing so won a close vote for the best play of the week above all other players around San Diego County.

KUSI's Prep Pigskin Report awarded Mar Vista High School quarterback and strong safety Jordan Lertique Play of the Week in their Sept. 23 broadcast for his hit on Francis Parker High School runningback Jesse Brookins .

With 35 percent of votes cast online, according to the program's host, Lertique won in "the closest vote in PPR history."

Lertique joins players from Eastlake, Carlsbad and Madison High Schools to win the honor and is the fourth of 10 players who will win the award this season.
