DA Declines to File Charges in Sweetwater Cafeteria Case

The moves comes after it was discovered earlier this year that at least $500,000 in food and drinks was misappropriated.

Cafeteria workers from the Sweetwater Union High School District will not be prosecuted, a spokesman from District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis Office told U-T San Diego.

Earlier this year, days after members of the district's school board were arrested, more than $500,000 in food was misused.

Six workers were put on unpaid administrative leave while the district performed an investigation, while two food service supervisors were let go and given $76,000 in back pay, U-T San Diego reported.
