Time To Review Street End Parking Ordinance Again

Many years ago a few influential folks who live near the beach petitioned previous councils to outlaw parking on street ends at the beach after 10:00pm.  This was a result of folks coming down to party at night and blasting their car stereos outside sleeping resident's windows.  Since then the Port has become involved in street ends , some improvements and art. While there may or may not be good reason to enforce this code, it appears that there is now a dual standard as the new hotel and food service opens. Many of the public parking spaces at Dunes Park (Daisey) and Date Streets are already full from hotel employees. It appears that these two streets and Palm Avenue are exempt from enforcement...but try parking on any other street end after 10:00 PM and you will get a ticket. I'm not saying whether or not the ordinance is fair or not.....I just question whether it is being enforced equally for all?  If it can't be enforced equally, then it should be repealed. Or.....maybe the Hotel needs to buy the lot across the street and provide employee and overflow parking for hotel workers and guests. What do you think?
