Has Mayor Janney Done Anything He Promised?

November 7, 2006 Election Jim Janney for Mayor of Imperial Beach By Jim Janney Candidate for Mayor; City of Imperial Beach This information is provided by the candidate Jim Janney, the best candidate for Mayor of Imperial Beach My name is Jim Janney and I live and work in Imperial Beach. My concern for Imperial Beach's past, present and future is why I am running for Mayors. I have no hidden agenda. I am the candidate with current experience as a member of Imperial Beach City Council as well as other regional governments. I have the proven ability (?) to build a consensus, work with others and move the processes forward. ( What’s The Process He’s Moving Forward? Dictatorship and Bankruptcy?) Common sense is an approach I believe in.(Oxymoron to say the least. Janney does what he’s told by his wife, Diane Rose and Patricia McCoy) My demonstrated ability to evaluate all aspects of multiple issues is important to the stability of Imperial Beach's future. ( Is that like falling asleep at a Council Meeting?) I will bring proven leadership (LOL) along with integrity (LOL) , trust (LOL) and respect(LOL)for all. Everyone except J.P. Palmer who pleaded for mercy and fairness in front of the Council recently. Mayor Janney has lost compassion for his fellow human beings and fellow citizens. It’s almost as if he was wearing an earpiece and Diane Rose was in the back room telling him what to say. While I made fun of Janney during the campaign becoming “one of them” or being “spellbound by the evil witches of the IBCC”…….. Janney’s curt and rude remarks to Mr. Palmer at a recent council meeting demonstrates that Janney is not concerned at all for the citizens that elected him. As your Mayor, I will ensure that the City is responsive and consistent to the needs of all residents and businesses. All members of our community (including those out of town investors) must participate in the on going improvements that enhance our quality of life that we expect and have come to appreciate. My ability to understand municipal and governmental accounting practices will facilitate the financial stability of Imperial Beach's future, which is paramount. We need to ensure that our expenditures do not exceed our revenues and to seek out alternative means in order to accomplish what the community desires and deserves. My diverse experience includes the last four years as your City Councilman, owner (for ten years) of two growing and successful small businesses, eighteen years of program management in the Federal Government, and six years of active duty in the US Navy. I am currently President of the South County Economic Development Council. I am endorsed by the Deputy Sheriff's Association of San Diego County; Law Enforcements Choice. I have also received the endorsements of Supervisor Greg Cox, Mayor Diane Rose and the Imperial Beach City Council Members. And Then There was the most recent Mayoral Election where Jim Janney posted this poster. Janney brags that he has a special understanding of accounting practices and in regards to permits ; he will streamline the process. Maybe thats why it only took 9 years for the Beach Club Grill to get their upstairs Patio roof approved and built. Good thing Jim Janney streamlined the process or it could have taken 20 or 30 years? Look how long it took to get a new hotel building. Pacifica bought the old one in 1995 folks. It's two years behind schedule and Seacoast and Palm are all torn up at the height of so called tourist season at the beach? If Jim Janney knows so much about accounting practices, why is the Grand Jury report questioning the sampling they examined. If Jim did what he said or knew what he said he knew....the Grand Jury would have given them 5 gold stars. How about it Mr. Mayor? Did Your Dog Eat your homework or what?
