CITY "GIVE-AWAY" INSULT TO TAXPAYERS

Council Voted to Give This Property Away for less than the cost of a shack in I.B.

That must be why they paid so much for it....so they could just give it away!

This project can never return even close to what's already been spent! CAN IT?

They tried to get the State Department Of Finance to approve the sale of the same property last summer for $1.00.  The State skoffed at them..This is not the best possible use of the property. So now they raised the price by a couple hundred grand. Peanuts!  An Absolute insult to the taxpayers and the State DOF !  Greg Wade thinks everyone is stupid!

Several years ago Diane Rose and Greg Wade introduced Colton Sudberry to the Council ...informing them that HE WOULD BE THE CONTRACTOR BUILDING THE 9TH AND PALM PROJECT.  I found some stuff in our SaveIB.com archieves that would be relevant. Although one of them is a parody on Diane Rose....Does she look like she's never met him before or is she just a bad actor by saying she never met him before?

Audio From Workshop where Developer Sterling trashes the returns numbers on the proposed Sudberry Project...Years ago before the RDA was made illegal by State Law.  The Successor Agency and a legislated Advisory Board of political appointee's, are telling this Council what to do with your Bond and RDA money.
Everyone voted to sell it to Sudberry for $1.oo a while back and the State said try again. They want to sell it to Sudberry now for $213,000....less than the price of your home...however humble it might be! That's what they voted to do last Wednesday. Does anyone even know that these folks are dealing with bond debt and your taxes. They they being squandered or given away and not serving the welfare of the community? Home Wreckers.  Miracle Shopping Center was just fine. Could have had a new roof, facade and parking pavement improved...and would have been producing jobs and services to the community all this time! Is this the best use for your future tax debt that they are now incurring. I would like their appraiser because the average home in Imperial Beach would be worth about $8.50 according to one person who tried to crunch the numbers.  GO FIGURE ?

What Do You Think?  (Flying Monkeys  and Incumbent Cheerleaders need not respond)

Here's an e-mail I got since this post  you might be interested in. Since the DOF has to approve the council/ successor agency's vote and the successor agency advisory board vote, there is still a short period of time where people who object to throwing $20million dollars down the rat-hole can still object and tell why.
Greg Wade stated clearly that they were going to try to get a decision from the Department of Finance as soon as possible.

Ed,

I found it. Maybe you want to forward this to others on your list?

The email should be:       Redevelopment_Administration @dof.ca.gov

Here is the link to the website.

Someone wrote me and said I should write a sample letter to the DOF.  You know....if you folks don't know how to write a letter and express your thoughts and feelings by now....I can't do it all for you.  Write it just like you would say it if you  were face to face with the grownups at the State that now hold the former RDA funds and won't divvy them out unless it's a real good plan. They already turned down a $1.00 sale.  There's probably $15-20 million in it already...IT WOULD BE BETTER TO AUCTION IT.  SOMEONE WILL BUY IT AND BUILD ON IT...MAYBE WITH THEIR OWN MONEY TOO?
