Realtors to Host Meeting with Congressman Juan Vargas
Congressman Juan Vargas will meet with the Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors May 10 in Chula Vista.
Rep. Juan Vargas, D-San Diego will attend a meeting with members of the Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR), a trade group for San Diego-area realtors, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 10, at the PSAR South County Service Center, 880 Canarios Court, Chula Vista. Vargas, a former San Diego City Council member, assemblyman and state senator, represents the 51st Congressional District, which includes the South Bay communities of Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach and San Ysidro, as well as Imperial County, stretching the entire U.S.-Mexico border in California. He won the seat in the November 2012 general election, succeeding Bob Filner, the 10-term Democratic congressman who gave up his seat for his successful San Diego mayoral bid.
As a freshman in Congress, Vargas has been appointed to serve on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, including the Subcommittee on Middle East and North Africa and the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade; the Committee on Agriculture, including the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management, and the Subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology and Foreign Agriculture; and the Committee on House Administration.
