What Does Pier South Resort Mean to You?

When Pier South Resort opens this month it will mean the end of a process that started in the 1990s to replace the Seacoast Inn and change what people see at 800 Seacoast Drive.

The four-story, 78-room hotel will immediately become the city's largest guest lodgings and one of two hotels within city limits.

Sea180 Coastal Tavern opened a week before Christmas

The new hotel has been called an anchor that will lead a resurgence in investment in Imperial Beach and inspired Mayor Jim Janney to deliver his first State of the City address at Pier South Resort since being elected in 2006

At an Oct. 16 Imperial Beach City Council meeting Councilman Ed Spriggs called Pier South Resort "the beginning of an age of new opportunities."
