A View From The Top of Hotel to Replace Seacoast Inn

A view from the fourth floor of the hotel expected to open in September.

You may have noticed the crane above the hotel to replace the Seacoast Inn this week and the fourth story emerge.

Work to erect the structure's steel frame began last December .

The 78-room hotel will have a rooftop patio, conference rooms and restaurant, among other features and is expected to open in September.

Gary, I hope the average I.B. Resident will be able to afford to eat or stay our New Hotel and Restrauant.

Sad sad sad. I loved the old surf side six, nee seacoast in ... funky and affordable and a part of the landscape. It fit in. This is going to look like Malibu or La Jolla. Changes the whole character of the beach, to my mind, to the negative.

I won't be able to afford it anymore.

It was originally the Surf Motel. The silly change to Surfside 6 came later.

Yeah, Surf motel. That's what it was when I moved to I.B. Then a couple, three years latter (?) they changed it. Still and all...I liked the old one in all it's incarnations.

Cities depend on sales tax as income and with the new hotel we can hold on to more of those dollars in our own town. I so look forward to the new hotel with a good restaurant and bar. A great view would be nice too!

Oops. Didn't mean to make Elaine's entry 'inappropriate.' Meant to do focusgdansk. So says a business. Yes, and along with that restaurant and bar, upscale outsiders coming in with Mercedes, BMWs, Lexises, etc., and complaining about the riff-raff that live in and hang out in I.B.
