No Candidates Yet for IB City Council Race
Those interested in running for Imperial Beach City Council must declare their candidacy by Aug. 10.
No declarations of candidacy for the Imperial Beach City Council have been received yet, said City Clerk Jacqueline Hald Thursday afternoon.
The Candidate Filing Period began July 16 and ends Aug. 10. If no incumbents files before then, the deadline will be extended to Aug. 15.
Both Councilmembers Jim King and Brian Bilbray who are up for re-election said they intend to run again.

In elections held in 2008 and 2010, winners were able to gain a seat on city council with 2,000-3,000 votes.
