City Council to Hold Closed-Door Meeting with Public Employees, Unions

The city of Imperial Beach City Council and City Manager Gary Brown will meet with a labor negotiator, the Imperial Beach Firefighters' Association, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 221 and employees who lack union representation Wednesday in a closed-door special meeting at 6 p.m.

Since it is a closed-door session said City Clerk Jacqueline Hald, no details or information will be released about the exact topic of discussion. A public comment period will still be observed at the start of the meeting. Should action be taken they will be annouced at the end of the meeting.

The city starts the 2011-2012 fiscal year Friday.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place June 15 but was cancelled.
