Woman Hit by Car in Allegedly Intentional Attack

During an incident reported after 1 a.m. Thursday, a woman identified only as Jamie is accused of taking a friend's car to hit another woman. She left the car a few blocks later and remains at large.

A woman allegedly drove a friend's vehicle into another woman during an argument in Imperial Beach early Thursday, sending the victim to a hospital, authorities said. The extent of her injuries is not yet known.

The incident in the 1400 block of Grove Avenue was reported shortly
after 1:15 a.m., according to San Diego County Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Blevins.

Witnesses told investigators that the driver, identified only as Jamie, intentionally struck another woman and then drove away. The vehicle's owner, Michael McCullough, jumped into the vehicle as it was leaving
the scene and tried to get the keys.

After riding in the car with the driver for four blocks, McCullough apparently convinced Jamie to pull over near 13th Street and Grove Avenue. He then drove back without her to the scene of the assault, the sergeant said.

McCullough was later arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The woman who was struck by his vehicle was taken to a hospital for evaluation, Blevins said, while Jamie remains at large.
