Tires Slashed, Windows Smashed in Sheriff's Blotter

Four separate vehicle vandalism incidents have been reported since Jan. 18. There were also commercial burglary incidents at State Farm Insurance, Pacific Realty, CVS and Romantix.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Imperial Beach substation reported the following arrests and crimes from Jan. 22-28. If you see a crime, please report it to the Sheriff's Department.

Jan. 28

12:30 a.m., 50-year-old man arrested for possession of controlled substances and the use and being under the influence of controlled substances in the 100 block of Palm Avenue


Jan. 27

1:07 a.m., 32-year-old man arrested for being drunk in public in the 900 block of 11th Street

12:32 p.m., commercial burglary reported at State Farm Insurance in the 1200 block of Palm Avenue. Television reported stolen worth an estimated $300

6:55 p.m., 22-year-old man arrested for the use and being under the influence of controlled substances in the 1300 block of Holly Avenue


Jan. 26

3:00 a.m., 23-year-old man arrested for being drunk in public in the 100 block of Palm Avenue

4:28 a.m., 53-year-old man arrested for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and committing a felony on bail and or release at the corner of Palm Avenue and Florida Street


Jan. 25

3:30 p.m., 47-year-old man arrested for being drunk in public at the corner of Palm Avenue and Sea Village Drive


Jan. 24

6:42 a.m., vehicle theft reported in the 1400 block of Iris Avenue. Stolen vehicle worth an estimated $1,000

10:15 a.m., commercial burglary reported at Romantix in the 1100 block of Palm Avenue, with an estimated $1,000 in videos, photos or DVDs reported stolen

12:38 p.m., 29-year-old man arrested for receiving known stolen property at the corner of Grove Avenue and Georgia Street

4:55 p.m., petty theft reported in the 1100 block of Holly Avenue. Backpack, office equipment and checks  reported stolen worth an estimated $103


Jan. 23

8:40 a.m., 47-year-old man arrested for the use and being under the influence of controlled substances and possession of unlawful paraphernalia at the corner of Florida Street and Elder Avenue

9:43 a.m., grand theft of money, labor or property reported in 100 block of Imperial Beach Boulevard, with an estimated $2,350 in stolen goods reported stolen

2:38 p.m., forgery reported in the 900 block of Emory Street


Jan. 22

6:58 a.m., vehicle theft reported in the 500 block of 12th Street. Stolen vehicle worth an estimated $5,000

10:55 a.m., vehicle vandalism reported in 900 block of 3rd Street. All four tires slashed for an estimated $1,200 in damage

11:09 a.m., commercial burglary and vandalism reported at Pacific Realty at the corner of 3rd Street and palm Avenue, with $2,400 in damage to structure reported

4:00 p.m., 54-year-old man arrested for assault with a deadly weapons not firearm and parole violation. Arrest took place on Ocean Lane. Actual crime took place in the 700 block of 5th Street

Jan. 21

9:01 a.m., vehicle theft reported in the 800 block of Palm Avenue. Stolen motor home worth an estimated $4,000

5:00 p.m., robbery reported in the 300 block of Caspian Way. Marijuana reported stolen worth an estimated $1,250. Backpack reported stolen worth an estimated $45

8:23 p.m., 18-year-old man arrested for robbery of J&T Nails and Imperial Beach Pharmacy in 500 block of 7th Street. $145 in currency and miscellaneous papers reported stolen was recovered

11:20 a.m., vehicle vandalism reported in the 200 block of Elder Avenue. All four tires slashed for an estimated $1,200 in damage


Jan. 18

6:51 a.m., vehicle vandalism reported in the 800 block of Cypress Avenue. Shattered front and driver side window and punctured one tire, with $1,500 in estimated damage

9:24 a.m., vehicle vandalism reported in the 300 block of Imperial Beach Boulevard. Tampered with keyhole in door

8:15 p.m., 38-year-old woman cited and released for unlawful display of registration and intent of non-compliance and driving without valid driver's license at the corner of Palm Avenue and Carolina Street

10:00 p.m., 31-year-old man arrested for shoplifting at CVS in the 800 block of Palm Avenue. Roughly $6 in liquor both stolen and recovered

11:45 p.m., 19-year-old man arrested for commercial burglary, conspiracy to commit crime and contributing to the delinquency of a minor at CVS in the 800 block of Palm Avenue. Minor also arrested for commercial burglary and conspirey to commit a crime. Roughly $25 in stolen liquor recovered

Jan. 17

8:24 a.m., tampering with vehicle reported in the 600 block of Palm Avenue, with an estimated $1,000 in damage reported

11:12 p.m., 45-year-old man arrested for the use, possession and being under the influence of controlled substances and another crime with felony bench warrant in the 1200 block of Elm Avenue. 19-year-old woman arrested for possession, use and being under the influence of controlled substances. 19-year-old man arrested for the use and being under the influence of controlled substances


Jan. 15

10:00 a.m., 56-year-old man cited and released for possession of unlawful paraphernalia in the 500 block of Spruce Street


Dec. 31

8:19 p.m., 49-year-old man armed with lethal cutting instrument arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in the 900 block of Palm Avenue.

Dec. 30
1:00 p.m., 21-year-old man cited and released for illegal speed exhibition at the corner of Dahlia Avenue and 2nd Street

Dec. 28

4:34 p.m., 30-year-old man cited and released for driving under the influence, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of 0.01 percent or more while on probation for DUI and driving with suspended or revoked license due to prior DUI conviction on Dickinson Street in San Diego
