Suspect Sought in Armed Robbery of Temecula Pizza Hut

The suspect allegedly made off with an undisclosed amount of cash just after noon Monday from Pizza Hut at 29740 Rancho California Road in Temecula.

A Pizza Hut was robbed at gunpoint Monday in Temecula, and authorities are asking the public's help to locate the suspect.

At 12:15 p.m. Monday at Pizza Hut in the 29700 block of Rancho California Road, a man wearing sunglasses and dark clothing made off with an undisclosed amount of cash in the alleged armed robbery, according to a news release.

The suspect reportedly entered the restaurant and asked the cashier to make change for a dollar, said Temecula police Sgt. Wade.

"As the victim opened the cash register, the suspect brandished a handgun and stepped behind the counter," Wade said.

The robber proceeded to take money from the register before running out of the business, Wade said.

The suspect was described as a white male between 28 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build and weighing about 140 pounds. He has reddish-orange hair and was wearing sunglasses and dark clothing, police said.

The investigation was ongoing, and police were actively pursuing leads, the sergeant said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident was encouraged to contact Investigator Devine at the Temecula Police Department by calling 951-696-3000.

12:15pm is lunch time. Surprised they werent busy as all get out. Also not a brilliant thief who would have waited until after lunch when more money would be in the registers. Like around 2pm. Hope they catch him with that good description of age, ht, wt. and the reddish orange hair especially is rare. Someone who reads this might know who it was unless he was taking advantage of freeway access on his way back to LA or somewhere else.
