Two men suspected of threatening a Papa John's delivery driver and forcing him to drive them around Palm City are behind bars, San Diego police said Sunday.
The suspects, whose names police withheld, confronted the driver and got into his car about 5:10 p.m. Saturday as he pulled into his employer's parking lot at 688 Hollister St., San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.
The two forced the driver to take them to a liquor store, where they briefly talked to another man, then drove around before stopping at Auto Zone at 1344 Palm Ave., where they got out of the car and fled, Stafford said.
The driver was uninjured.
The victim described the pair to police, who found one of the suspects, Stafford said. Sheriff's deputies arrested the other in Imperial Beach, he said. They were jailed on suspicion of kidnapping and carjacking, Stafford said.
