Police Seek Gunman in Friday Shooting in Nestor

The assailant is described as a young man in his late teens or early 20s, of medium height and thin.

A man was wounded in a shooting late Friday in Nestor, San Diego police said.

Officers were called to the vicinity of Ilex Avenue and Saturn Boulevard about 11:45 p.m. after someone reported hearing gunshots in the area, and found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, according to Officer David Stafford.

The injured man was taken to a hospital to be treated, the officer said.

Police described the suspected gunman as black or Hispanic, in his late teens to early 20s, about 5-feet-10 and thin.

He was last seen running north from the scene, Stafford said.
