Pit Bulls Chase Man; Owner Arrested

An Imperial Beach man is behind bars Wednesday morning after his pit bulls nearly attacked a man and his dog, according to the sheriff's department.

The man was walking to his car with his dog when he was surrounded by three pit bulls, Sgt. William Amavisca told CBS8.

The man and his dog made it to his car without injury. The dog owner was bitten by one of his dogs and attempted to flee when deputies arrived to the scene, Amavisca said.

"He jumped in his car and started to drive off so deputies initiated a traffic stop, arrested him for driving on a suspended license, also took a man on his warrant, his car was towed," he said.

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Georgia Street around 6 :15 a.m. Wednesday, according to NBC San Diego.
