Nestor Man Accused of Stabbing Another Will be Sentenced Today

A Nestor man who fatally stabbed an acquaintance near strawberry fields in southern Chula Vista was scheduled to be sentenced at the South Bay Courthouse today.

Hector Pablo Molina, 59, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of 55-year-old David Lee Craig last June.

Molina was arrested about 45 minutes after a mortally wounded Craig was found near the 2800 block of Main Street the afternoon of June 3.

A witness saw the assailant flee in a red pickup and wrote the license plate number in some roadside dirt. Chula Vista police then traced the vehicle to a home in the 2100 block of Clairton place, where Molina was arrested.

Craig lived in a van and apparently looked after the farmland where he was slain. The motive for the slaying was unclear.
