National Night Out: Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fight Crime

The Imperial Beach Sheriff's Station will host events on Tuesday to promote public safety.

Tuesday is the 28th annual National Night Out, a nationwide event promoting crime-free neighborhoods and community spirit. The will be hosting activities from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Robert Egger South Bay Recreation Center.

Residents are encouraged to meet deputies and learn about crime-prevention techniques. Many National Night Out events include child fingerprinting, free document shredding, cookouts, safety fairs, raffles, games and more.

National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is held in all 50 states. More than 37 million people participated last year.
