Murder Suspect Arrested on Palm Avenue

Angel Michael Nunez was arrested Monday morning on Palm Avenue on suspicion of stabbing and killing a man last week.

The San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 21-year-old Angel Michael Nunez around 9 a.m. Monday near 9th Street and Palm Avenue on a felony arrest warrant for allegedly killing a man.

On Sept. 25 around 6:10 p.m. near the 1600 block of Hilltop Drive in Chula Vista, Juan Navarro was with a companion when he was allegedly stabbed by Nunez, who had pulled up with several others in a white vehicle, said Chula Vista Police Department Lt. Lon Turner.

The motive is still being investigated.

Nunez will be processed and booked into San Diego Jail on homicide and committing a gang act charges, Turner said.

The San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force is organized by the United States Marshals Service and includes the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and Chula Vista Police Department.

Why weren't all the young men charged in this case? This is bullshit! Mr.Nunez had a hung jury, They retried him. Gave him a life sentence yesterday. I bet one of the other is responsible for the fatal blow. It's obvious he may be innocent of murder. Hung jury...Let the kid go!!!
