Man Stabbed in Imperial Beach

Elias Zepeda, 43, was arrested and booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported that a stabbing occurred shortly after 3 p.m., Friday at the intersection of Seacoast Drive and Evergreen Avenue. 

The Sheriff's Department Imperial Beach Station reported that two men were observed fighting as a patrol deputy drove up to the developing incident.

"She called for cover and was able to break up the altercation," the department said in an email to Patch. "As more deputies responded, it was quickly ascertained one of the men had been stabbed more than once during the struggle."
 
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Elias Zepeda, 43, was arrested and booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon in connection to this incident. Two children under the age of 10 years were with Zepeda at the time of the incident. The children were reportedly reunited with their mother at the IB Station.
